Rachel A. Peterson, DDS

Rachel A. Peterson, DDS

Dr. Rachel grew up in Hammond, IN. After receiving her B.S. in General Biology from University of Michigan and her M.S. in Biology from Purdue University, she went on to earn her DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Rachel returned to Northwest Indiana to join her mother’s dental practice, Peterson Family Dental.

Dr. Rachel provides general dentistry services to patients of all ages. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, the Northwest Indiana Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Rachel enjoys participating in a local dental study club and attending numerous continuing education events each year.

Dr. Rachel lives in Dyer with her husband and two young children. When she isn’t practicing dentistry, she enjoys working on home-improvement projects, reading, and spending time with her family.

Alex K. Sarpong, DMD, MS

Alex K. Sarpong, DMD, MS

Dr. Sarpong started his dental journey at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, where he received his B.D.S degree. He then joined the Doctor of Dental Medicine Advanced Standing program at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and graduated with a D.M.D degree. Dr. Sarpong received the A.C.E. Student Scholar Award during the Advanced Standing program at the University of Illinois Chicago for his academic achievement, commitment, and excellence. After graduation, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Sarpong completed his residency in Advanced Prosthodontics and Master of Science in Oral Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Following residency training, Dr. Sarpong pursued a fellowship in Oral Oncology and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. He specializes in implant therapy, all-on-X, veneers, crowns, bridges, removable prosthetics including dentures, and prosthetic rehabilitation of maxillofacial patients with head and neck cancers and deformities. Dr. Sarpong is a Maxillofacial Foundation Award recipient and a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is an assistant professor at the Postgraduate Prosthodontics residency program at UIC College of Dentistry.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, producing music, exploring new restaurants, and taking long walks in the park with his wife.
